It has been a hot and dry summer so far in the Willamette Valley. Those of you that live here know how uncharacteristic this weather has been. Yesterday it rained though and along with a sense of relief to see that yes, it can rain here again, I also realized I have a full and complete glass schedule and itinerary for the rest of the year (OK- lets not bet on that just yet) I have some new work and ideas and I hope that you will come see me and my work at the following places. I am very happy to again be part of the talented group of Philomath Open Studio Artists (POST). These are artists that get together for the POST Open Studio and Art Tour. This year we will have an early show at Pegasus Gallery in Corvallis in August. The show at Pegasus goes up the first part of August and will be up for the month so you can visit anytime to see the work of over 30 artists. If you haven't been, I would love to see on the Corvallis Art Walk (CAW) which will be August 20th. CAW is a fabulous event and is getting all kinds of attention, with visitors coming in as far away as Portland and Eugene.
I will also have new work on the Oregon Coast, at both the Fairweather House and Gallery in Seaside and Imogen Gallery in Astoria this summer. I am very excited and thrilled to have work on the Oregon Coast this summer. But wait theres more! In September I will be the featured "Cage" artist at the Azure Gallery in Corvallis. The Gallery is run by Deb, whose alter-ego by day is clothed in financial management outerwear but whose soul inhabits the art world. My work along with hers and a third artist (more here later) will be up all month in September. Please stop by and again, don't let another Corvallis Art Walk (CAW) go by without attending. We will be on the tour! CAW in September will be on September 17. Other Preview POST gallery shows will be at the Brownsville Art Museum in Brownsville, and Gathering Together Farm on Grange Road in Philomath during the month of September. There will also be a show of artists representative work at the Philomath Wine Vault, weekend afternoons from October 3rd through November 1. Heres a preview of some of the work I plan to have at POST this year. Bunny Plates will be happening! POST itself will be from Noon to 5 on the weekends of Saturday, October 24 and Sunday October, 25 as well as Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1. As a guest artist I am so pleased this year to be hosted at Cindy McNutt-Kaestner's (fiber artist) studio and will be on the tour as Stop # 5 at 24563 Daisy Drive in Philomath, Oregon. Get a downloadable map here. Mike Bergen and I will both be there both weekends. And finally but certainly not least, it looks like the long awaited grand opening of the remodelling of the Coos Historical Museum will be held during the last part of September. YAY! can hardly wait for this. Remember a while back I mentioned that 3 of my large Salmon has been purchased by a museum? This is that museum. As most construction projects go, it has run behind schedule and the opening has been held off until all of the exhibits were placed. If you can join me there, please do. I will post the date of the opening when I have it. In any case I hope to post photos. So yes, it is a wonderful upcoming glass year. My hands are full but sigh yes, I am always interested in hearing about something shiny. So please stay in touch and thank you for following my blog. I appreciate your interest and support. Please come and see me!
